Played my first games against the new Necron codex yesterday/today. The First one was 1500 using the list in my last post. The second at 1750 using an expanded list as practice for a tournament in February .
Waaagh! Buzzkill! Christmas knockout tournament.
I’ll admit I’ve had a bit of a gripe about Warhammer recently after getting into Warmachine. It just has so many loopholes and unbalanced elements that make it a less interesting game to play. Despite that I had a very good game yesterday against Dark Eldar which reminded me that despite all that I really do enjoy playing the game and probably always will, mostly for sentimental value I think but when you push aside all the beardyness its still a damn good game.
My Local GW is hosting a 1500 Winter knockout tournament so I thought I’d use that as a platform to renew my love for the game. I’ll be playing my Bad Moon Orks, still fresh out of their 4th place from the team challenge at Maelstrom.
Arcanika Rising I, The start of a Retribution of Scyrah force.

This is the first of what will be a series of articles detailing the evolution of my new Retribution of Scyrah Force. This is a ground up army so you’ll get to see the models I assemble, paint and play them. In this post I’ll go through my plan for the elves as well as what motivates me to play them.
“Walls Ahead, Rubble Behind” A look at the hardcore list so far.
I thought it would be good to have a good run through my current main list with the UK hardcore next year being one of my targets. I’ve been playing Warmachine since summer 2011 and this means my play level is somewhere between baby seal and the try hard kid. So I’ve got alot of work and practice to put in before I’m ready for this sort of event!
The British are coming! Templecon Practice event.
So for those of you unfamiliar with it there is a convention in America called Templecon (http://templecon.org) which includes, alongside an array of weird and wonderful events, a massive array of Warmachine activities organised and sponsored by our benevolent benefactors at PP. Casual tournaments, hardcore tournaments, all night events, challenges, prizes…If you like the game it is kinda the place to be for 3 days. Anyways a group of brits from around the country are banding together and going over to show the yanks what’s what and presumably teach them how to drink and game at the same time. In preperation for this Gary at Maelstrom decided to organise an inpromptu practice event to get some games in with the new 2012 steamroller pack.
Messages in Bottles
I did think for a while how best to introduce a blog and what fantastic things I could write to get everyone inspired to come back but then I remembered what someone alot more famous then me said:
“Blogging is like throwing a message in a bottle into a sea made out of bottles with messages in.”
Therefore my plan in to lamp this bottle in YOUR general direction in the vain attempt that the temporary shock and blood loss may keep you around long enough for this to get interesting.
So where to start? The obligatory piece of text about myself it is then! After all the idiot you know is better then the idiot you don’t.
