Simple question peeps; Would you like to see coverage from me during SmogCon, not just from games but for the event in general? If so how? Simply click on the poll and/or leave comments below! Thanks guys!

SmogCon is under a week away and as such so is my first ever Warmachine event and what an event to kick off with! Its looking like it’s going to be a boat load of fun, reall looking forward to it! I do however need to finalise the lists I plan on taking as so far I’ll be playing in the 35pts steamroller and the 15pts doubles. I will of course be using the boys in red (although they wont be painted in time so more boys in silver and brown).

So I return with tidings! My apologies guys for the lack of fresh material recently, I’ve been pretty busy with work and lifes other little joys and most of my free time has gone into preparing for Smogcon! On this subject I do have a few little things to show so lets get to it!
So after a big clearout I was given an Orc bloodbowl team by a friend who got out of the hobby years ago. I’ve always wanted to play the game as it looks awesome fun but never got round to it…well now I don’t have a choice it seems!

JT-Y was very polite to answer my questions about conversions during one of the last articles so I thought I’d return the favor and pimp this out for him.
Now, hand on my heart, this is my favorite paint job ever. It is just perfect in my eyes and if I can achieve even a fraction of the result on my own models I will be a very happy man! Also a fairly renowned force as it appeared on the PP Insider!
No surprise then that he is not going to let this go at a bargain price so be prepared to dish out some serious dosh if you want to get your hands on it. More photos after the break but you can find the original sale post here.
So due to work picking up and having some more spare cash around I managed to snag one of the few remaining tickets for SmogCon.
What is SmogCon? It’s the first “american” style warmachine convention in the UK! So normally it should be 3 days of warmachine fun! Very nerdy but you gotta love it 😉

After my last post I got a fair bit of feedback via comments, not the kind I wanted exactly but in all honesty it’s good to have some constructive criticism. Puts your feet back on the ground so to speak.
I went away and asked a few acquaintances, a lot of them TOs or regular tournament players and got some more feedback. It was very positive and they presented good arguments for conversions in general.

Now as I touched on in my previous post Warmachine is not a game you associate with conversions. A range that provides only static metal models with no interchangeable bitz or options is pretty weak when you compare it to say, Warhammer, where nearly every model can easily be made to look different.
Now don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining, this does prevent a lot of gaming shenanigans that games like Warhammer suffer from like laying down space marines, oversized vehicles, winged tyrants and all the other cheesy modelling advantages that I’m sure you’ve heard of. Combined with PP’s simple Base Size=Height/LOS system it makes the game mechanic perfectly simple.
However as a modeller, who enjoys having good looking models and isn’t too keen on duplicates it does sometimes rub me up the wrong way and recently, starting with the winterguard, I’ve had the urge to experiment a bit more in having a more unique looking Warmachine army. The problem is that to stop people abusing the system PP have a very formal ruling included in the new 2012 Steamroller pack.
So I’ve got a new conversion to show you all and at the same time we’ll take a look at the ruling and see why it’s allowed.

First of all sorry for the lack of posts guys, Its been a pretty busy January but sadly not so much in hobbying. Work and other assorted niceties have kept me away from the brush but I have managed to get a few things done.
I’ve had a good few games with the new steamroller 2012 pack so look for a few posts concerning that and how I need to adapt my Khador to the scenarios and rules! In the mean time I have some new winterguard to show!
A while ago I did a post on Warbuggies. I needed 3 for my Orks and suddenly there was more choice then simply the games workshop model that made me want to scream “unclean!” every time I saw it, followed by scrubbing myself down in the shower.
I had 3 choices the: Kromlech Desert Raider, the Mantic Marauder or the rumored January GW release for orks including a new buggy. It turned out that as much as I did like the Kromlech buggy it’s about £30 so WAY too expensive and the GW release rumours were just a fart in the wind.
So when Mantic turned around and said I could have 3 Raptors for £30 including delivery how could I refuse?
